Homecoming Week is Here!

Every Year the St.Joseph High School student body and faculty celebrates Homecoming week mid-September.

It is a week of many fun activities including pep rallies, trivia, karaoke, music, games, and of course, the Homecoming dance. Many of the students and faculty at Joe’s are very excited and love Homecoming week.

Mr. Mike Brokenshire exclaimed, “Homecoming is one of my favorite times of the year.  Engaging with our student body and seeing how much fun everyone has during this week is a rewarding feeling.”

The purpose of Homecoming week and the Homecoming dance is simply to show our support for our fall sports teams-particularly football. This year our Chargers will play Friday, September 19th against Leo High School at Elmhurst College, with the JV playing at 5 and Varsity kicking off at 7:30.

This Friday the school will hold an assembly to get everyone pumped. During the assembly, we will recognize our seniors who participate in fall sports, crown our Homecoming king and queen, watch our dance and cheer teams perform, and play various games.

As we Jump out of the fun-filled week, the weekend only gets more exciting. Homecoming week continues on to Saturday, September 20th which is the day of the Homecoming dance. This year’s theme of the Homecoming dance is “Chargers in Wonderland” and the dance will take place in the south gym from 7-10 p.m. Charger Spirit is the best spirit and Homecoming week brings out the Charger in every soul that walks through the halls. So, bring the laugh, joy, and happiness to the Charger community once again!
