On October 11th, the freshman, sophomores, and juniors had the opportunity to take a practice ACT test in order to prepare and know what to expect in the near future. Seniors were not required to take the practice ACT. However, they were required to use this day to visit a college of their choice.
I had the opportunity to talk to junior, Jacob Garza and was able to ask him a few questions about this experience and how it has prepared him for the future as he starts applying and looking into colleges himself. He stated that “ being able to have the opportunity to practice and know what to expect has helped me in preparing for college.” and “through this experience, it was able to teach me what I needed to know, practice, and what I need to work on before taking the ACT that will be sent to colleges.”
Being a senior now, I remember taking these practice tests and honestly, they do prepare you for college immensely and they get you thinking about college and help you to plan for the future. They are also great practice as well as you prepare for the real ACT test. I think it’s safe to say that overall these types of tests help students in the long run and prepare them for the future as they embark on their journey through college and life.
