The best tunes to get you in the Christmas Spirit

Phoebe Unzueta, Staff writer

It is that time of the year, the streets are filled with inflatable Santas and snowmen and beaming with twinkling lights. Besides all these wonderful things that fill the streets, there is one thing that fills the airwaves, Christmas songs.

There are the people who start listening to music at the beginning of November (I am one of these people). While there are those who wait until after Thanksgiving passes and then blast these holiday favorites from their speakers.

To help others in the holiday spirit, here is a list of some of my personal holiday favorites. This all ranging from the classics from over 50 years ago, to pop sings released within the past couple years. There is something for everyone in this list.

10)  “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Elmo and Patsy

9) “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande

8) “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams

7) “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Judy Garland

6) “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano

5) “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t be Late)” by the Chipmunks

4) “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms

3) “Last Christmas” by Wham!

2) “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee

The number one top choice is something that everyone knows, from the elderly to toddlers. It has since its release over twenty years ago, it has become a holiday standard, with the song growing popular with each Christmas season. The timeless and loved number one holiday song is…

1) “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey
